| Adultery is the voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and another person who is not his or her spouse, though in many places it is only considered adultery when a married woman has sexual relations with someone who is not her husband and in others it is only considered adultery when a married woman has sexual relations with someone without the permission of her husband. In most cases, in Western countries, only the married party is said to have committed adultery, and if both parties are married (but not to each other) then they both commit separate acts of adultery. In other countries, both parties to the adultery are considered guilty, while in others again only the woman is able to commit adultery and to be considered guilty. Adultery is also referred to as extramarital sex, philandary, or infidelity, but does not include fornication. The term "adultery" for many people carries a moral or religious association, while the term "extramarital sex" is morally or judgmentally neutral. The interaction between laws on adultery with those on rape has and does pose particular problems in societies that are especially sensitive to sexual relations by a married woman, such as some Muslim countries. [1] The difference between the offenses is that adultery is voluntary, while rape is not. The term adultery has a Judeo-Christian origin, though the concept of marital fidelity predates Judaism and is found in many other societies. Though the definition and consequences vary between religions, cultures, and legal jurisdictions, the concept is similar in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and Hinduism has a similar concept. But the word should be used cautiously when discussing various cultures, some of which permit less permanent forms of marriage, or even sexual "lending." [2]Historically, adultery has been considered to be a serious offense by many cultures. In some countries, adultery is a crime. However, even in jurisdictions where adultery is not itself a criminal offense, it may still have legal consequences, particularly in divorce cases. For example, where there is fault-based family law, it almost always constitutes grounds for divorce, it may be a factor to consider in a property settlement, it may affect the status of children, the custody of children, etc. Moreover, adultery can result in social ostracism in some parts of the world. Three recent studies in the United States, using nationally representative samples, have found that about 10-15% of women and 20-25% of men had engaged in extramarital sex. [3][4][5] Fornication, or simple fornication, is a term which typically refers to voluntary sexual intercourse between persons not married to each other. [1]The origin of the word derives from Latin. The word fornix means "an archway" or "vault" (in Rome, prostitutes could be solicited there). More directly, fornicatio means "done in the archway"; thus a euphemism for prostitution. Fornication is dealt with differently in various religions, societies and cultures. Religions For a broad overview, see Religion and sexuality.[edit] LawsThe laws on fornication have historically been tied with religion and the legal and political traditions within the particular jurisdiction. In the common law countries (England, USA, Canada, Australia, etc.), the Courts were never interested in punishing subjects for purely private moral deviations - even incest - although sodomy was an exception. What laws did exist were purely statutory. In many other countries, however, there have been attempts to secularize constitutions, and laws differ greatly from country to country. Most Western countries and some secular Muslim countries like Turkey and Azerbaijan have no laws against fornication if both parties are above the age of consent. [edit] Jurisdictions within the United States of AmericaPremarital sexual relations were viewed as a matter of private morality, and, as such, were never viewed as criminal offenses against the common law. [2] This legal position was inherited by the United States from Britain. Later, some jurisdictions, a total of 16 in the Southern and Eastern United States, as well as the State of Wisconsin, [3] passed statutes creating the offense of "fornication" that prohibited ( vaginal) sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons of the opposite sex. Most of these laws either were repealed, were not enforced, or were struck down by the courts in several States as being odious to their state Constitutions. See also State v. Saunders, 381 A.2d 333 (N.J. 1977), Martin v. Ziherl, 607 S.E.2d 367 (Va. 2005). With respect to sexual relations between persons of the same sex, such acts may be prohibited under criminal laws defining the offense of " sodomy," rather than the laws defining the offense of "fornication." The U.S. Supreme Court decision in Lawrence v. Texas (2003) rendered the states' remaining laws related to "sodomy" unconstitutional. Lawrence v. Texas is also presumed by many to invalidate laws prohibiting fornication, as the decision declared sodomy laws unconstitutional due to the interference of such laws with private, consensual, non-commercial intimate relations between unrelated adults, and therefore are odious to the rights of liberty and privacy, such rights being retained by the people of the United States. However, because Lawrence explicitly declared sodomy laws unconstitutional, some states continue to enforce laws prohibiting fornication. [4]In Utah, any unmarried person who voluntarily engages in sexual intercourse with another is guilty of fornication, which is a class B misdemeanor. [5] However, this law is unenforced... In recent years, premarital sex has become a politically divisive issue in the United States, The debate about abstinence-only sex education has brought the issue of premarital sex to the forefront of what conservative politicians call the " Culture Wars." ayan kuya abbec nag search pa ako sa wikipedia pra msagot ko tanong mo.hehehehe may plans ka na ba para sa valentine's? | |

| Medyo na pero wa pa me salamin pero kapag medyo malayo na, medyo malabo na ung nakikita ko, ngyon lng to, dahil babad sa kakalaro sa computer and may lamp sa desk, kaya nalabo ata ng mata.. Haay.. @Cellphone in gas station. -- That is a fact that Cellphone can cause explosion in gas station. Its not really the cellphone itself, but the battery inside the cellphone. Kasi ang battery is nagccause minsan ng spark right? Its like a starter in your flourescent lamp na kapag binuksan mu is nagsspark ung starter at nagbubukas ung ilaw so minsan kapag may naamoy kang gas sa loob ng bahay nyo is wag mu buksan agad ung ilaw kasi bka magcause ng sunog sa loob ng bahay. Happy Anniversary Love Radio! haha.. | |
